Ride bikes or drive your car on the beach to the northern most point of New Smyrna: The Jetty. View Ponce lighthouse, hike boardwalks in Smyrna Dunes park, fish, find shells and sand dollars at low tide. There is a $20 fee to drive and park on the beach. Worth every penny!
Walk the charming street at the heart of New Smyrna Beach. It is filled with quaint shops, trendy restaurants and lively bars. It's fun to walk all year round. It is also the location of several street festivals.
At the southern end of New Smyrna Beach is our very own national park! There is an entry fee of $20, unless you have a National Parks Pass (totally worth it!) Nice hikes. NIce beach.
Ride Bikes on the beach. Kayak in the bay. Paddleboard beyond the waves. Surf. Boogie Board. Do an early morning walk or run on the beach. Burn those calories so you can treat yourself to ice cream.
The best place to view Manatees during the fall and winter is Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park, West side of park (bay side). For dolphins, the waters near the Marine Science Center or the beaches surrounding the Smyrna Dunes park on the Ponce De Leon Inlet
Rent a street-legal golf cart and drive around New Smyrna Beach and directly on the beach. Legal on streets with speed limit of 35 or below, which includes the vast majority of NSB. There is even a legal way to get from the island to the mainland
Grab and umbrella and go shopping on Flagler Ave. Visit the Marine Science Center. Visit the Atlantic Center for the arts or the Bob Ross studio. Or enjoy some down time near the fireplace at your rental house.

Within 60-75 minutes are three of the best waterparks in the entire world. SeaWorld's Aquatica; Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Unreal! Or for five bucks, there is a public pool in Edgewater. (photo credit Aquatica)
There are 7 golf courses in New Smyrna Beach, and 1 is a municipal course. There are also another 13 golf courses within 20 miles of New Smyrna Beach, including 9 public, 3 municipal and 1 private courses. The oldest course in the New Smyrna Beach area is the Daytona Beach Golf Club which was designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA and opened in 1921. The longest course is LPGA International, which is 7,088 yards. Spruce Creek Country Club is rated the best course near New Smyrna Beach. (source golflink.com)
If you need a break from the water, within an hour or so is the Kennedy Space Center, SeaWorld, Disneyworld, Universal Studios, and Daytona Speedway. There is no where else where you can find this level of activity!
